I just bought: 'Bradshaw's Continental Railway Guide, 1913' by George Bradshaw. This is the book Michael Portillo uses as a guide in the BBC documentary "Great Continental Railway Journeys". The series is currently daily on BBC-TWO. In today's episode Michael was in the Netherlands and this was the trigger to order the book.

We had a good laugh when Michael was in the Rotterdam Harbor in a high crane lifting containers, where the Dutch crane driver instructed him to lower the crane with the words: "go downstairs" and for going up, Michael asked "Go upstairs?".

I can only recommend to watch this series, it is a great way of learning about many European cities.
