A while back I purchased the bass of my life through eBay. The long time lost, but not forgotten, Kramer 450B Bass.
After a while of adjusting everything I reached the point of a perfect and very enjoyable bass to play. I was thinking of a full restoration of the bass, but have to give it more thoughts, since I currently do not want to miss the bass too long, I want to play it.
For now I want to start here with telling what I have been doing do far and also to share my thoughts of what needs to be done still.
A bullet list of what has been done, checked or replaced so far is what comes first. From there I will pick up as there are new developments or thoughts to be shared.
Replaced:
* strings
* electronics
* pick-ups
* speed knobs
Repairs:
* Fingerboard, frets sanded down
* Neck, polished the aluminum
* Bridge, polished
Adjusted:
* String action
* Bridge intonation
Let me close with a photo of the Kramer and his two brothers.

On the left the Yamaha and in the middle the Gretsch a short-scale bass. The 450B in the unrestored state on the right.
